As an emerging technology, The Internet of Things (IoT) has caught more and more attentions. And along with the open-loop application of IoT in a large scale, the problem of cross-domain communication will rise. So the success of IoT is badly in need of the support of sophisticated Discovery Services to make sure the accuracy and efficient query of related information. In this paper, the discovery technology from the identification of object to its related information in the IoT has been researched. This kind of technology is called Discovery Services of IoT in this paper. Based on the analysis of the predecessors’ research result, the characteristics of IoT has been researched and concluded. And the existing model of IoT has been extended to propose the new discovery model. At the same time, the beneficial discussion of the key technology of Discovery Service has been provided. Then, the new concept of "discovery domain" and "discovery granularity" has been proposed. And the iteration model of Discovery Services in different levels has been analyzed. The model which can support the discovery of different coding-system has been designed. This model can also handle with the complex relationship, for example, the transformation, aggregation and split of different IDs. Based on this model, directed-digraph has been used to represent the relationship of different events and proposes the concept of "discovery spread". Moreover, the algorithm and strategy of discovery has also been researched in this paper. In the end, architecture and modules of the pilot Discovery Services system has been designed and the reliability and performance of the system has been tested and verified. Meanwhile, the research of privacy control, data isolation and filtration has also beenmade.
