| China is a large textile country which textile industry is facing significant challenges, and only if we adjust the structure and keep the growth, the textile industy can have a long-term development. Only take the high-tech way, can we get through of the low-end products in the textile industry in the "Red Sea", creating a new area of "Blue Sea" for our own. In recent years, with the rapid development of rapid response mechanism, businesses can get the achievement from the plan into a reality. With the continuous development of economic and technological in society, many companies start using CAD, CAM technology in their design and manufacture process to manage the various parts of the data information, but benefits come along with some problems to enterprise. Although computer-aided technology has improved steadily, it always lacks of sharing and exchanging information. This formed a so-called "islands of information." To solve this problem and achieve the orderly interaction between the informations, PDM came into being. PDM achieved the integrated management of relevant data, processes, and resources, which is a good solution to these problems above.First, this paper provides an overview of knitting, showing some of the problems currently exist in knitting production management and introducing the advantage of PDM in the production management. After some research over the production process of knitting industry, the PDM’s structure and composition of functional modules for the knitting industry was identified and the overall framework of PDM system for knitting was designed, including the menu bar and toolbar. This study focused mainly on drawing management and project management in PDM which are two significant categories. After browsing through some information and analyzing of applications of the current computer software in all industries, the applications of drawing and project management in knitting industries has been analysed.Further more, in order to make the knitting PDM system better adapt to textile enterprises, the study of the knitting industry has been done for the issue, the drawing and project management in PDM has been designed and improved to make it better for knitting enterprises. In the drawing management, each product’s information has been broken down into three parts in term of style map, process, and details. Style map shows the clothing style pictures, and the designer, etc.; Process lists the name of the clothing, raw materials, chest width, shoulder width, and so parameter index; Details gives a meticulous classification, including clothing color, season, etc. listed. For better and convenient search in drawing management, common search and advanced search has been designed. In project management, according to the main stage, it has been divided into three areas in terms of creating plans, tracking and managing the project, the end of the project. Creating plans area include project name, responsible person, approval status etc., epecially project property sheet to save product information, for quickly and accurately production check in the future. Track and management of project includes project number, task, project schedule, etc., for earlier discovery of quality and shedule problems.The report in the end of the project phase indicates that the profit or loss of the production. This software adapts Microsoft Visual Studio2008development tool of Microsoft Company, using C#as programming language and SQL Server2005as core database of the system. This satisfies the knitting industry to save the basic knitting data.This issue has based on the design and implement of drawing management and project management of the knitting PDM system, initially to meet the requirement of knitting enterprise for storing and searching the product information. The PDM is a relatively large system which needs to be improved and further perfected in order to serve knitting enterprises. |
