Design And Implementation Of Home Monitoring System Based On ARM

Over the past decade, with the the rapid development of network technology and theEmbedded technology, as well as the sophistication of interrelated Hardware industry, allkinds of Embedded systems are widely used. They have been used in all aspects ofnational economy and become the indispensable importment portion of many fields. So inthe filed of Intelligent home management, Embedded technology is also used forstrengthening home security capabilities, beautifying the view of home, and simplifyingthe housework. By customizing dedicated electronic control system, we can put numerousequipments to a private rooms. So it beautifies the view, as well as can help owner controlthese equipments quickly and correctly for timely knowing the situation of fire disasterand theft.The system are primarily used to avoid fire and theft. In the sides of hardware, it usesthe motherboard named FS2410and the chip from korean named S3C2410, that own thearchitecture of ARM9. After writing Bootloader, writing linux operating system, writingfilesystem, compiling driver, the hardware platform of ARM is build. In the sides ofsoftware, on the base of hardware platform, the system uses some related open-sourcedevelopment kit to develop an application for video capture and temperature detection etc.It also uses QT to develop the client interface. In this paper, according to the principle ofSoftware Engineering, the overall design is build after needs analysis. The motherboardare design as the server with the linux operating system and the application that arerunning on. The client interface Build by QT and PC are designed as the client. The servercommunicate with the client by GPRS and Internet. In the step of detailed design and theimplement of system, this paper analyzed the both sides of the architecture of software andhardware. Also, it analyzed the model of driver of linux.By using the monitoring system of home, the owner can reduce costs and grasp thesituation conveniently. On the other hand, the system owns better stability and reliability.
