Research And Implementation Of High Speed RS Code In OFDM System

With rapid development of wireless communication, people are living in the3G era,but the growing demand of multimedia service has not even been satisfied, the nextgeneration of mobile communication system aims at supplying broad band multimediaservice with high speed and high transmission quality. OFDM technology will be used asthe modulation technology in physical layer in the next generation of mobilecommunication system, because of its higher spectrum efficiency and good anti multipathperformance. In order to supply multimedia data with high speed and high transmissionquality, advanced error correction technology is need. RS code has a good performance aterror correction, it is widely applied in many digital multimedia broadcasting protocols,RS code is the first choice in the outer coding schemes in the next generation of mobilecommunication system. So it is important to research and design RS code in OFDMsystem.In this paper, the frame of OFDM system is proposed, and the simulation platform ofOFDM is set up by MATLAB tool. The error correction performance of RS code isresearched and analyzed in the OFDM simulation platform. RS encoder and decoder isresearched in detail. As to finite field multiplier with constant coefficient which need mosthardware area in RS encoder, a optimized method of sharing in whole and using two levelXOR is proposed, complexity can be reduced. In RS decoder, modified inverse-free BMiteration algorithm is adopted to solve key equation, it can not only avoid complicatedinvert, but also shorten the critical path of decoder circuit. The designed circuit performsvery well through simulation and verification, hardware implementation is reduced in RSencoder, and the RS decoder can work at higher frequency.
