The Research And Development Of3D Collaborative Design Management Based On Workgroup In PLM

Due to the mature technology and price advantage of domestic PLM/PDMsoftware,domestic PLM/PDM software is more and more applied in many domesticmanufacturing enterprises.However,there are some limitations and deficiency to support3Dcooperative design and management among domestic PLM/PDM software,which mainlydisplays in the collaborative efficiency and convenience.According to the drawbacks to support3D cooperative design in domestic PLM/PDMsoftware,we present a framework for3D cooperative design management based on workgroupin PLM.The working model of3D collaborative design based on workgroup is researched.Atthe same time,this article discusses the working model,key techniques,framework andrealization of3D cooperative design based on workgroup in PLM.The main research jobs areas follows:1. By analyzing the close interrelations between PLM and3D collaborative designbased on workgroup,this article points out that local data cache is the key to achieve3Dcollaborative design management based on workgroup.Taking Pro/E as example,this paperwill research design model of3D collaborative design based on workgroup inPLM.Meanwhile,requirements of3D collaborative design management based on workgroupare elaborated.2. Workspace and working model are designed.This article focuses on the analysis ofkey techniques of3D collaborative design management system based on workgroup inPLM,including distributed technology,multiple threads,small database of xml and CADintegration.3. Based on IntePLM system,an application of3D collaborative design managementsystem based on workgroup(TeamCAD)has been developed and accomplished.By thecharacteristic of3D collaborative design based on workgroup,the system architecture andfunctionality of TeamCAD has been studied.The underlying database applies existingORACLE database which is used in IntePLM system.XML as a small database is applied inlocal data cache.This method not only helps to reduce the difficulty of development andimprove the speed of data transfer,but also the biggest advantage is the platformindependence of XML.In short,under the requirement of JAC Co., LTD collaborative managementproject,TeamCAD system which integrates with IntePLM system and Pro/E system has been developed.TeamCAD system has been successfully operated in JAC Co., LTD.It can realizethe3D collaborative design management based on workgroup. To some extent,it improves theefficiency of3D collaborative design in PLM.
