The thermocouple is the most commonly used type of temperature sensor in theindustrial production and scientific research. The Metrology Law in China stipulates thatthermocouples have to be calibrated or supervised Periodically in the course of its usage toensure the accuracy of the temperature measurement.Traditionally, the thermocouple verification mainly depend on manual work, and in theverification process it mainly rely on the people’s experience to make the temperaturecontrol to a test point one by one, which remained stable after its verification. For thisverification process relies entirely on manual operation, low efficiency, labor-intensive issuesand so on. The paper make full use of present computer control and data acquisitiontechnology, as well as a wealth of current software and hardware resources, designs a kind ofindustrial thermocouple auto-verification system, to achieve industrial thermocouplecalibration automation, intelligent and standardization.Based on the analysis of the Specification of Thermocouple Calibration, This thesisintroduced an overall design of industrial thermocouple auto-verification system, softwareand hardware system design and the technical problem mainly solved. The system selectionof the high precision programmable multifunction instrument HP34401A Multimeter, usingserial digital acquisition module USB-4716connected computer and digital thermometerHP34401A to realize automatic data acquisition, using solid state relay and PID regulator, soas to control temperature furnace. The system software written in Visual Basic6.0, canrealize the automatic control of furnace temperature, thermocouple automatic verification,automatic storage of test data, historical data query and the certificate is automatically printedand other functions.The design of the industrial thermocouple auto-verification system in laboratory hasbeen put into practical operation, Work performance is stable, it can in line with industrialthermocouple requirements, also meet the design requirements. The whole system has agood expansibility, shorten the time of verification and reduce the labor intensity, improvethe automation level of the thermocouple calibration work.
