Design And Implementation Of Finance Record System Based On XBRL Technology

Finance record system also named accounting computerized record system, is adetection and filing procedure by relevant finance departments about computerizedaccounting calculation data and visible accounting documents before enterprises oradministrative institution keep accounts with computer instead of bookkeeping. As animportant part in implementing accounting computerization, record system play roles instandardizing the format of accounting calculation data, rectify the mistakes in application ofaccounting computerization timely to ensure the proper operation of accounting, management,etc.Finance record system consists of two parts: one is financial export system used byenterprises and institutions, which can export the financial data files from its own accountinginformation system to meet specified standard. The system is developed by different softwarecompanies individually. The other is detection system applicable for relevant financingdepartment, which is developed by company especially assigned by financing department.The data exported from the finance records should comply with the requirement from<information technology accounting software data interface criterion>(GB/T19581-2004).As a universal business reporting language, XBRL describes, saves and transfersbusiness data in XML format. It is not only an application of XML in information exchangeof financial report, but also in unstructured information processing, especially for those thelatest technology. XBRL is the most common language of corporate financial reportscurrently in the world.Current finance record system in Shanghai is based on data files in TXT format of thiscriterion. TXT files are not conducive to data retrieval and lack of logic in internal dataverifying, so scheme of finance record based on XBRL is raised accordingly to international popular financial report method.The paper is purposed to design and implement an updated finance record system by theresearch on XBRL’s technical specifications, taxonomy and instance files. The finance recordsystem based on XBRL technology mainly expanded the former part of original system.The paper also disserted the whole procedure including export of files in TXT formatfrom existing finance record system, parsing of the schema document and XBRL-link librarydocuments, generation of XBRL instance files as well as verification of XBRL documents.There are two main steps among the process: generation of schema document and link librarydocuments requires the user to set the display and relationship of calculation manually,generation of instance files need for taxonomy and element processing. A demo can be foundin the paper to show the whole operating procedure of finance record system based on XBRLtechnology. And also gives analysis on the performance of this system.The system improves the usefulness of the finance information provided by enterprises.Interactive data based on XBRL will serve as supplement instead of replacement or change onexisting finance record files submitted in TXT format.
