This thesis mainly focused on the optimization of the cracking and follow-upprocesses in petrochemical industry. By developing software, the decision process isexecuted in an intelligent way.The petrochemical industry is basic industry, which is very important for China’sstable development. It has large economic scale and high association with otherindustries, which plays a pivotal role in the promotion of related industries andeconomic growth. The products from petrochemical industry are widely used in variousfields, such as national economy, people’s life, technology of national defense. But thedevelopment of the petrochemical industry is highly limited by the intensive resourcesof capital and technology.For any petrochemical enterprise, improving the economic efficiency is not onlythe highest pursuit of this enterprise, but also a strong guarantee of the socialreproduction and living. However, during the planning process for the procurement ofraw materials and subsequent process, some of China’s petrochemical enterprises arelack of scientific tools, which result in bad use of internal and external resources. Thisthesis is dedicated to optimize the planning process of the petrochemical enterprises anddevelop software which optimizes the cracking and follow-up processes. Based on thechanges of the material prices, cracking performance, cracking facility and productmarket, the mathematical model is developed to optimize the choosing of the materialand the production process. And all these are implemented by the user-friendly software.The customer needs are fully taken account into the design of the software, whichincludes the mathematical model, database, program and the design of the user case.Finally, the software is used to solve the real-world problem, which proved that thesoftware did a good job in supporting decision process. And it can overcome the twomain disadvantages of current enterprise: Planning and financial calculations areisolated from each other; Blind thinking.
