With the development of automation and mechanization in tablet manufactory, the speedof tablet packaging is also greatly increased. So the manual inspection about whether lackingof pill, and the integrity of pill within the blister have been far from saticfactory for therequirements of industrialization. Moreover, the existing pill inspection systems pay toomuch attention on real-time inspection of wrong pill, but care little about the statisticalsignificance of these data. A blister-pill inspection system based on machine visiondeveloped by our laboratory can be a good solution to this problem. The system has severaladvantages over human eye detection, such as high detection speed, high precision, and noshortcomings of human fatigue.This thesis is to study how to control, receive and store detected data from the smartcamera, and also provide the analysis of valid data. The server is based on Windows, thehardware platform is a smart camera based on TI’s TMS320DM6437. System inspectionsinclude: blisters lacking of pill, broken tablets, pill color, pill shape, and pills in the wrongplace. After getting the error data of blistered pills, we store the error data in the database,analize the data in several ways, generate the corresponding report, and solve the problemsin the production of blister pill.The result of the experiment shows the system can process multiple smart cameras thattransmit data at a speed of10frames per second. Debugging on sever software and dataanalizing software show that they operate normally.
