Along w ith t he d evelopment o f financial leasing b usiness, China’s f inancialleasing i ndustry has been fast gr owing in t he r ecent y ears. However, t hecorresponding information technology infrastructure, esp. the core business system,has not been able to keep up with the rapidly growing business. Moreover, it becomesto be restricting related business development. As a result of lacking such systems,financial leasing companies have encountered their bottle neck in their operation andmanagement. It has become a vital and imminent issue for such companies to developan effective and capable core business system for their financial leasing business.Based on the actual financial leasing business practice, this article describes thework to develop a core business s ystem for financial leasing business. The systemuses the Ruby on Rails as a technical framework, and MySQLrelational database forreliable and efficient information storage, and has realized stable performance on theLinux p latform. T his a rticle h as mainly solved the following ke y informationtechnology issues facing the financial leasing industry:1. Leasing calculation: a flexible a nd accurate ca lculation e ngine has be endeveloped for leasing business in the system. The engine is capable to process vastvolume of ca lculations, i.e. pricing e stimation, IR a djustment calculation,amortization calculation, provision etc.2. Process flow and flow control: full-process-based business is one ofthe mostsignificant features of leasing business. T he flow control e ngine developed in t hesystemhelps to organize the work flow among different departments and users in auser-friendly way.3. Management of business model and financial products: the systemis flexibleto acco mmodate different parameters, and thus help to reduce r eliance o n specificbusiness model or financial products.4. Data integration: data is well integrated throughout the system, which helps toreduce duplicate work in different departments and users.The core module of the system has been technically and operationally tested, andhas significantly help to improve the working efficiency of financial leasing business.
