As a new method of understanding the objective world, simulation technology is widelyused in national defense, military, biomedical and etc in all over the world for its advantagesof economy, security, operable and etc. With in-depth understanding of simulation technology,more and more people are concerning about the credibility of simulation results that areapplied in the actual system. The credibility of simulation system is closely related to theexistence of the entire simulation system, the practical application of simulation system, andthe value and significance of simulation results by simulation systems. Therefore, thecredibility of the simulation system and simulation results need to be analyzed urgently bycurrent people.This paper is going on combination with the scientific research, and the research workincludes the following aspects:(1) The structure of marine electric propulsion system is outlined, and the compositionmodules and works of ship electric propulsion system are described in brief. Then, thenecessity of analyzing the credibility of simulation system of ship electric propulsion systemis researched.And then, the evaluation index of simulation system of marine electricpropulsion is established according to the system characteristics and requirements of users.(2) The concept of modeling and simulation, verification and validation is described. Then,the necessity of verifying the credibiblity of simulation of ship electric propulsion system isanalyzed. Following it, common methods of verification and validation are summarized.Furthemore, aiming at the characteristic of the simulation of ship electric propulsion system, acomprehensive validation method adopting expert theory and software testing is used to testwhether the simulation system meets the users’ requirements, whether it accords with therelative software standards, and whether it can be used in practice and so on.(3) Aiming at the characteristic of the simulation of ship electric propulsion system, theintegrated estimation method that is composed by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation andsimilarity principles is proposed firstly in order to analyze the credibility of the simulationsystem. Then, aiming at the shortcoming that the subjective factor when deciding the weightof indices by AHP method is strong, a new method of calculating the weight of expert isproposed in this paper. Moreover, in allusion to different types of credibility analysis resultsobtained by the comprehensive evaluation method, a approach by using fuzzy neural network theory to determine the membership function of the system is proposed, then the quantitativeresults obtained by credibility analysis are been fuzzy, in order to support the credibilityresearch of the whole ship electric propulsion simulation system in theory. Finally, based onthe MFC platform of VC++software, a software tool for credibility assessment is designed. Itachieves standardization and automation for credibility analysis during studying thesimulation of ship electric propulsion system, and improves the efficiency of analyzing thecredibility of the simulation system effectively.(4) The simulation of the propeller-propulsion motor system is taken as an example, whichis studied by using the credibility evaluation method proposed in this paper. Finally themeasurement of the simulation credibility of the propeller-propulsion motor system isobtained. This example also proves the feasibility of the research methods in this paper.
