Ordinary light power in underwater target image detection attenuates sharply and Produces serious backscattered light because of absorb and scattering, especially in turbid water. In order to solve the above problems, we have developed a new detection method-Inhomogeneous Optical Field Theory,Based on this method and the law of light attenuation in the water medium, apply cluster light distribution in underwater three-dimensional coordinate axis to establish an ideal non-uniform illumination light field. It can effectively overcome the scattering problem to obtain satisfactory underwater detection range. The traditional method of image acquisition can only obtain two dimension information of the water, now we apply non-uniform light field underwater target detection method based on the cluster of light to binocular stereo vision technology, and can get information of the underwater three dimension space more further. The first part of this article introduces the development status of underwater target detection and Binocular Stereo Vision, the next part proposes the establishment of underwater Inhomogeneous Optic Field and Target Detection Method, and then introduces the binocular stereo vision technology, including the principle of Binocular Stereo Vision, camera calibration, stereo matching and calculating of the three dimensional coordinate. We performed experiments using our own structures of Binocular Stereo Vision system, and the experimental results can accurately describe the shape and depth information of the target. In the end, this article proposes experimental program guidance for further experiments, and the improved method of defects in the experimental results.
