With the rapid development of information society and the gradual propulsion ofmedia integration, mobile telephone is no longer a simply mobile communicationterminal tool, but turned to be a new media with texts, images, audios, videos all inone. In the communication process of crisis events, mobile media with its uniqueadvantage of mobility and portability has played its effect at all stages of crisiscommunication.In the first part of the thesis, the author took a discussion on the new patternwhich formed by mobile media participating in the process of crisis communication inthe background of media integration. Then, the author analyzed the application ofmobile media in crisis communication by using Paul Levinson’s media compensationtheory and Steven Fink’s stage analysis theory.For mobile TV, mobile newspapers and mobile websites which are the mediaproducts integrated by mobile and television, newspapers and websites, the authoranalyzed their propagation characteristics in crisis communication respectively. Onthe basis of fully understand the propagation characteristics of the mobile TV, mobilenewspapers and mobile websites, the author took a questionnaire survey in Beijing,Shanghai and Nanchang centered on mobile media’s application in Japan Nuclear leakcrisis. Through case analysis and the theoretical discussion, the author summarizedthat mobile media acted as couriers, watchers and opinion channel in the crisiscommunication of Japan Nuclear leak accident. However, compared with television,newspapers and other mass media, mobile media are still weak in contents,authoritative weight and other aspects, which still acted as a supplement of the massmedia in the crisis communication of new media integration pattern.Aiming at the phenomenon of mass media acting as a mainstream and mobilemedia acting as a supplement, the author attempted to analyze the cause from threeaspects of mobile media, the audience and the mass media. At the final part of thethesis, the author put forward some development strategy of mobile media in crisiscommunication from three parts of strengthening mobile media’s self-construction,coordinating the relationship between mobile media and mass media and correctlyguiding the audience.
