Along with the development of optical fiber technology and improvement of people’smeasurement requirements, optical fiber sensors is more and more used in all areas of sociallife, compared with the traditional mechanical or electrical sensors, optical fiber sensor hasadvantages of wide frequency band, high sensitivity, anti-electromagnetic interference, smallsize, light weight, flexibility to any shape, sensing and transmission in one body and etc.Fiber-optic accelerometer as a new type of optical fiber sensors, plays an increasinglyimportant role in inertial measurement, displacement measurement and navigation.As for the design of interferometric accelerometer, research of signal demodulationmethod is one important part. in this paper, the main study is optical frequency modulatingphase generated carrier (PGC) demodulation, the demodulation method has greater dynamicrange and demodulation sensitivity, belonging to high performance demodulation method.This article, combined with the existing micro-optical acceleration sensor system, discussesand analyses the technology principle and solutions of phase generated carrier demodulation,as well as digital realization of key parameters in selection, testing and control. On this basis,according to the actual needs, design and manufacture high performance digital demodulationcircuit to realize the accelerometer signal demodulation of the optical fiber.This article builds experimental platform with quartz accelerometer as calibration sensor,for testing optical fiber accelerometer parameters of bandwidth, sensitivity and dynamicrange.combined with simulation experiments, analyses the demodulation circuit performanceand noise of the system, in order to lay the foundation for further improvement ofdemodulation accuracy.
