With the instant development of underwater acoustic technique within the last fewdecades,the acoustic transponder used in acoustic positioning systyms or acoustic experimentshas become universal an acoustic equipment.As an acoustic experimental equipment, becauseof its lower cost, simple and reliable application, the acoustic transponder has been widelyadopted in underwater acoustic testing, target simulation and other underwater acousticexperiment.Therefore, the research has very practical significance of the acoustic transponder.This thesis focuses on the design of the acoustic transponder’s hardware and softwareaccording to the specifications of the acoustic transponder. The hardware is composed of thesignal preamplifier and receiver, the signal processing module, the transmitter and the power.The hardware realizes these functions such as the hydrophone signal receiving,matching,amplifying,filtering and the emission signal driver. The functions of the software are signalacquisition and detection, signal recording, generation of the respondent pulse, battery voltagemonitoring. The equipment is powered by battery. All parts are powered by circuit composedof DC-DC and LDO.The main ideas in the design of the acoustic transponder is as follows.a) Design of low-noise preamplifier and receiver.b) Design of the D calss amplifier in PWM.c) Design of a signal processing module using DSP and CPLD.d) Design of a software which can records the signal as files to a USB disk in FAT32file system.
