Using semantic technology in RESTful web services will make great value. theweb2.0practitioners have all agreed that the next step is to take full advantage of theWorld Wide Web is RESTful success and the make full use of vast amounts ofinformation on the internet. There are two points in web3.0theoy., First, the RESTfulstyle has proved its huge potential in the human web, the next step is to using restfulstyle in web services building,especially among the Internet-facing distributedsystems, the RESTful web services can achieve good scalability, security andavailability.While another point is that by adding semantics to make use the vast amounts ofinformation on the internet. Recently,there is a lot of information on the World WideWeb, because there is no good semantic structure between the website., even if forthe same content, different systems can not understood the meaning. Makinginformation in structure will make each site a good understanding of each other’sinformation, and let the web be an integrated database.RESTful system and Semantic Web both has the characteristics of resource-oriented,TB, and the combination of the two will promote the further development of theWorld Wide Web. Semantic information to achieve a RESTful hypermedia driven,The semantic making the computer understand the direction of the application to thehuman user to follow the same state transition. RESTful uniform interface and can beaddressed will be more convenient interaction between different systems, to promoteunderstanding and exchange of semantic information.We cam use microformats,Atom,the RDFa to add semantic processing to web. Someof the system can achieve publish semantic information,such as the Rails framework,Django, the JAX-RS. Rails development framework supports both RESTful services,and also supports semantic techenology, including RDF/XML, and Atom formats,and so on.In this paper, I designed an RESTful-rich semantic system the Rails framework. Thesemantics of the system to add, need to have a reasonable explanation, or the designof semantics can not be understood and queries. So I use the OWL ontology designmodel to constrain the semantic information.I studied the principle of RESTful web services and the principle of semanticinformation ontology model, and then designed a semantic information that can be published, or can use a unified interface to call REST-style method. I also designedan OWL ontology model based on the needs of the system design, the semanticstructure of the organization, released in the system. And I use a unified interface tomake the system to be safe.The system I designed meets the constraints of REST-ful architecture, it face forthe World Wide Web, it can be used by the other client and the OWL model I designedcan be use and published by other systems.
