With the manufacture technology of LCD TV gradually mature, LCD TV’sdeveloping direction tends to green environmental protection and energy saving, so,how improve the light guide efficient of LED backlight to reduce energy consumptionhas became the focus of attention for most people.This paper mainly research the high efficient light guide technology of LEDback-light in LCD TV, according to the research we can design high brightness LCDTV, witch provide convenient for design low power consumption LCD TV. First of all,it briefly narrate the development present situation and trend of LED TV, thenintroduced the LCD module’s component, and have a simple introduction to each part.The main content of this article is focus on research the three increasingbrightness methods in edge-lit mode back-light, research the effects of brightness,uniformity and view angle in LCM by LED light source, LGP and optical film. First,it design an LED BAR witch is useless in LED and good at display. Then use thebrighten up principle of prism design a V structure light guide panel, and with theoptical software ’Light Tools’ simulate the performance of printing LGP and V-cutLGP, the data of the experiment prove that V structure LGP is better than printingLGP in Uniformity, brightness and light convergence. Also design several kinds offilm combinations referenced by the simulation results of the optical film, and throughthe experimental method to obtain the effect of brightness gain under every kind offilm architecture, At last, by contrast and analysis the gain date find out the better filmarchitecture in brightness gain and view angle. This paper has completed the opticaldesign in32inches edge-lit LED back-light, use the LED BAR、V-CUT LGP andoptimal film structure to built the32inches LCM. In order to validate the module’sperformance we do some experiment about it, such as test the LCD TV’s optical indexand risen temperature, and do the aging test, finally, the test results confirm that the LED LCM we designed with high brightness, low power consumption and gooduniformity, etc.The theoretical analysis and experimental results prove that, the research resultof this paper has reference value in apply the high efficient light guide technology andresearch the low power consumption LCD TV.
