In recent years, with the rapid development of IT and our increasing emphasis onmarine resources, marine observation technology has become more and moreimportant, This is tantamount to a higher demand on the client software for the designand implementation of marine observation. Traditional client software design methodhas been not adapt to the development needs of the ocean observation, in the areas, todevelop a fast and efficient client software is an urgent need.In order to improve the versatility and efficiency of the client software, to reducesoftware maintenance and development expenses due to equipment upgrades andtechnology updates, on the basis of the existing client software, combined with theactual needs of marine observations and model data, we designed and implementedmarine observations and model data Oriented client software, the client softwaremainly include: database access mode, model data transformation and visualization.In them, database access includes the specified database update, modify, delete, andother routine operations. Model data transformation function is mainly the changefrom marine observation data to model data. Visualization feature includes sensorsgeographic visualization, scalar show, vector show, data query and download, printservices, The sensors geographic visualization is to display the distribution of theobservation sensors through access to the geographic information of the sensor; Thescalar show is to show the trend of marine observation data in the form oftwo-dimensional contour image; The vector field is to show the trend of marineobservation data in the form of two-dimensional vector; The data query and downloadis to query the observational data, show to the users in the form of list, download is toget the selected data downloaded to the local in the form of document, now onlysupporting the NetCDF format; The data management’s functions include databasemanagement service and database access service; The print service is to print marineobservation data or data picture according to the needs of users, in order to archiving or research in the future.Marine observational client is based on the c/s architecture, the implementationof each functional module is in the form of components, the design of eachcomponent is based on the idea of software reuse, which not only improves theefficiency of software development, but also reduces software development costs, andenhances the multiplexing capability and versatility. This article designed andimplemented the client software oriented marine observation and model data, verifiedthe practicality and versatility of the components. The practice shows that thesoftware can meet the needs of users, not only shortens the software developmentcycle, but also enhances the scalability and flexibility of the system.
