Design And Build An IaaS Platform Basing On The Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is the third wave of innovation in the IT industry following thePC and Internet. It is the key strategic technology and means to lead the informationindustry innovation.Cloud computing can be divided into three service models. Infrastructure cloudservices (IaaS), platform cloud service (PaaS) and software cloud service (SaaS).Infrastructure cloud service is currently the most widely used service, it is oftenindependent of the operating platform. It can share the infrastructure service costs andavoid the cost of hardware and human resources. IaaS can not only give the users whoshould only access on the network the services of the computer infrastructure, but alsois the basic of the platform cloud services and software cloud service.Currently, the presentation of IaaS to the users is mostly in the form of platform.Enterprises build an infrastructure platform in the cloud which has the ability ofservices, and present to the users. Today, cloud computing system and solutionsmarket has followed production: Oracle’s Cloud in the Box, IBM’s ISDM servicedelivery platform, HuashenTiancheng’s IaaS management system. Those platformsare relative expensive and is not very convenient to operate. A started withnon-professionals background can hardly manage and maintain these platforms.Based on this, this paper attempts to design and build a small IaaS platform.Through this paper, users could use any IT resources around to set up a small privatecloud and enjoy the IaaS everywhere. Taking into account the platform that thisplatform is aimed to the users who are non-professionals and the environment is inthose small IT surrounding, so the convenience and practicality of the platform shouldbe fully considered. Meanwhile, the platform also has certain management functions,and set aside the interface and ability to expand it’s facilitating, so the professionalsand technical personals could easily manage and upgrade the platform.The entire design, construction and implementation process should not only need the basic principles and the structure of cloud computing and the implementationmechanism of the IaaS which should be in-depth study, but also need to know a lot ofsoftware, hardware and network knowledge. How to build a platform should also bein good understanding. During the research, a clear concept of cloud computing andthe key technology, architecture model of IaaS infrastructure is fundamental. Thoughthis part, readers could understand the theoretical background and basic knowledge.Then, start a series of solution design, including architecture design, platformrequirements and build the cloud environment. Finally, select a appropriate opensource cloud platform management software according to the size and purpose of theplatform to implementation the platform. At the same time, the paper also describe thehow to manage and apply the platform.The entire platform is based on cloud computing technology, the IaaS is thecarrier, the private cloud is the framework and the serve is the form. Compared tothose current commercial large-scale infrastructure cloud service platform, thisplatform has an obvious advantage in terms of convenience and practicality, and alsoconducive to promoting, more cost-effective and expansion. Researchers andprofessionals could study and researcher the platform. It is very suitable to apply insmall private cloud environments and small IT environments.
