It expands and extends the traditional examination and therefore can test the students anytime and anywhere.Besides, it can use the resources on campus network and so can help manage the teaching better.The thesis discusses how to make a Web-based online testing system and develops an examination soft that can define various types of examination questions, presents and transmits the examination questions by exploiting such multimedia as texts, sounds,pictures,images.Using Microsoft SQL Server2000database,this system is based on B/S environment and is developed on the basis of ASP and ADO,combined with HTML,CSS, and JAVASCRIPT.The thesis precisely analyzes the components,the working mechanisms,the applicable technologies and the process of developing this system and explains its principles and theories,its general plan,and the steps of developing the key modules. This system aims at managing the examination question banks, the students’ information, the make-up of tests, the online testing, online Marking and performing some other auxiliary functions. It effectively avoids the cheat phenomena in examination and gets well examination result.Through the research on the paper, this software system can meet the requirement for current examination.lt shows that the examination cost and security difficulty are decreased and organization efficiency is increased because the manual work which links such as proposition before examination, test paper print, test paper read after examination and grade statistic in traditional examination are omit in software.lt effectively avoids the cheat phenomena in examination and gets well examination result.
