With the development and popularization of internet technologies, e-learning has become an important way and development direction of universal education for all. E-learning, is a teaching model, which applies the computer and network communication technology to teaching methods. To realize this teaching model, we must rely on the network. E-learning has made exert-wide and far-reaching impact on the whole education structure. And it is a tendency towards teaching method of the future. This paper firstly introduces the concept and characteristics of e-learning. E-learning is a concept which is relative to the traditional face-to-face education, it uses the current rapid-developing network as the interactive media, which breaking the constrains of time and space. Since this advantage of e-learning, lots of e-learning platform are appearing. The article will elaborate on the situation and development-trend of current e-learning systems, as well as the significance of author’s system. Next, the article will show the core technology of J2EE which the system relies on. For the system is a teaching-learning platform, it should utilize the video in a large extends. Considering that, this article will do some introduces to the fashionable streaming technologies. At last, this article leads the readers to our teaching-learning system, make them have a systemic acquaintance of our system in system architecture, underlying database implementation, function module implementation and UI design. This e-learning system has been put into service. The application results show that the system has many good futures, such as practicable, stable, usability and practicability. Generally speaking, this system can meet the demands of numerous scenarios of e-learning...
