The telecommunications industry also encountered some bottleneck problems inthe rapid development process, such as: variety of businesses need the constructions ofdifferent networks, The reusing of this networks seems impossible, so new businessdevelopment is in difficult status. With the formally carrying out of domestic3Gnetwork, based on the advantage of3G brought access bandwidth, providing moreflexible and perfect new business become the new profit growth point of operators.Soft switch technology, the equipment and system which use the SPC software torealize the separating of call control function and media handle function, has greatadvantage in the area of new business development and network merging based on thetheory of separation between signaling and traffic, controlling and bearers. It will bethe core technology of the Next Generation Network (NGN) and be introduced into theIP multimedia system and WCDMA core network.This article provide a implementation Scheme for Local Area Network based onthe R4core network which is belong to the Soft Switch Technology On the backgroundof experience of Changsha Unicom WCDMA engineering. The main contents includes:1. Based On the analysis of characteristics of WCDMA R4core network, this firstpart introduce the network topology, function module, interface and protocol whichis the main idea of the soft Switch Technology. Also introduced the MSC Serverand MGW’s structure and function2. The main Part designed the implementation Scheme of Changsha Unicom WCDMAlocal area network, including traffic and signaling network organization, focusedon the configuration design of MSC Server and MGW. Another special content ison the traffic analysis module design based on the Changsha traffic character andtypes.3. To Meet the requirement of reliability of communication network, This article alsoprovide the implementation of MSC server N+1redundant system based on theanalysis of several redundant technology and the reality of local network status.4. Though the main core KPI verify test, the local area network technology inWCDMA core network architecture meet the requirement of communication, andthe redundant verify test confirmed the N+1backup disaster recovery schemefeasibility. In this phase network construction implementation, the network planning anddesign provide the construction scheme of local area network on the consideration oftechnical difficulty and reality status. After the final test and network provisionrunning analysis, every index met the designed criteria, realized the communicationunder the local area network. In the next phase project, the redundant backup systemwill be upgrade to improve the capacity and reliability of network.
