Small X-band Doppler Radar Front-end Module Is Developed

Doppler radar is a kind of radar equipment using the doppler effect ofelectromagnetic wave. Such as in the fields of military airborne radar, doppler weatherradar, measurement of speed, invasion preventing, with its powerful function, dopplerradar is widely applied. At present, detect technology of civil areas have get rid oftraditional approaches, which rely on light source detection and infrared detectiontechnology, and turn to the microwave testing direction. Mini doppler radar gets focusin the forward trend of technical progress.The core function of radar is to implement capturing analog signal and signalprocessing. As the tool of capturing analog signal, the front module plays anindispensable role in the whole system.To the point of theory, simulation and product, this article discusses thedevelopment process of the front module of X band doppler radar used in civil area.Agilent’s ADS, Advanced Design System, is mainly used in the simulation of the minifront module. And both of the major components of the module, such as frequencysource, power splitter, mixer, antennas and small parts used in the process of integration,such as microstrip capacitance, fan-filter, are simulated and discussed. And more, thepersonal experiences gained during the process of the project are written down.After the theory analysis, simulation design and experimental board, the producthave already been put into application, meeting the production requirements and thenational standards.
