Ethernet Switch/router Protocol Test Method Research

During a few decades,with the rapid development of internet information technology, internet is necessary in our daily life and work. As the node of each user, Switch/router plays an important role in internet’s building and data packet’s transmit. Nowadays, cause of the expanding application of network, the construction of the Switch/Router is more and more complicated. It can’t meet our needs of accurate and quick, just depending on Manual Testing. In the view of the current situation of protocol test system’s development, the article mainly researches a network protocol testing method based on Switch/Router, which can finish the protocol test of automatically.Through having studied the operating principle of Switch/Router, and the all protocol operating mechanism, I have designed various kinds of important protocol test process in Ethernet Switch/Rounter. Meanwhile, sumed up the law of all kinds of important protocol test process, combined the test process and the test strategy separation design method, and used network programming module "scapy" in python language,I have finished the design and verification of procedure module for Ethernet Switch/Router protocol testing. Also, I have realized protocol packet’s sending and investigation with XinErTai10/100/1000electric interfaces of ethernet test module.The main ideas of the article as below:1. Analyzed the basic theory of Switch/Rounter protocol test. Including the theory of ethernet, Application mechanism of internet protocol among the Switch/Rounter, and the applied principles of Switch/Router in the network communication.2. Researched a design of the whole system software platform about the ethernet Switch/Rounter automatic test system.Analyzing of testing goals about the Switch/Rounter’s protocol test.And in-depth study the protocol test method design and the project program realization.3. Researched series test method of Switch/Rounter detailed, which include two-way test, one-way test and comprehensive test methods. 4. Researched the implementof all kinds of modules in Switch/Rounter protocol test, and doing the functional verification.There are including packet constructing module, packet sending/monitoring module, and packet analysis module.
