From the first amplitude modulation mobile communication system, to the second generation mobile communication technology, and then the third generation of mobile communication technology, wireless communication system which can only provide telephone service at the beginning is advancing rapidly. Now the system is able to transmit various kinds of multimedia information, such as voice, video, audio and so on. However a higher demand on the transfer rate, performance and system capacity in wireless communication system is urgently and carefully considered. MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-output) communication system using multi-antenna structure can increase the channel capacity, at the same time it can exponentially improve the spectrum utilization without increasing the bandwidth and requiring larger antenna transmit power. This system also can improve the reliability of the channel and rcduce the error rate. So the broadband receiver in this thesis is designed of MIMO technology. There are four channels working simultaneously in the wide-frequency range receiver for MIMO communication systems in this thesis. The cavities for the transmitter, receiver, and the frequency source are separate, but they work in the same chassis. The switching of channels and frequency ranges are controlled by51series microcontroller and one DSP(Digital Signal Processor). In this thesis, the receiver is designed by the structure of double-conversion heterodyne, which not only can well suppress the image frequencies, but also to ensure good selectivity.First, the paper introduces a detailed program design, including the choice of the receiver structure, and comprehensive consideration based on the indicators. Then in third chapter there are introductions of the hardware circuit design, and the amplifier circuits and the corresponding filter matching circuits are very important. It also presents how the PCB makes. The last part describes the tests of the receiver, including the indicators of the system and the problems encountered in the tests and the corresponding solutions.
