Ultra-high voltage transmission technology is the need of development strategy of state grid, and meets the needs of growing demands for electric power. Ultra-high voltage transmission lines have the characteristics such as remote corridors, long route, inter-regional and high voltage, which brings new problems for power system communication. Traditional power optical communication is limited by transmission standards and technique features, as a result, whether employing optical amplifier technology to extend transmission distance of single span or building optical repeaters on transmission lines, has the problems of expanding capacity, requisition of land and connection of fiber optical cables, and can not slove optical transmission problem of ultra long distance well.The paper proposed a mode of constructing stations, which installs optical communication repeaters on transmission lines. Cascading of optical communication repeaters can solve power optical ultra-distance transmission problem, and provides a new scheme for optical communication of inter-regional ultra-high voltage lines. Because of the advantages of repeaters on lines such as small volume, light weight, lower power waste, flexible layout and rapid construction, the technique can be extended to other fields such as emergency communication and temporary communication.The study focused on key technologies of constructing the system, including the four aspects as follows:(1) The research emphasis of optical transmission technology is ultra-distance non-repeater optical transmission system. On the one hand, the paper summarized ultra-distance optical transmission technologies at home and abroad, and analyzed the problems of designing optical transmission system for ultra-high-voltage lines, then established the research direction of optical transmission model, and analyzed the cascade number and transmission distance of the2.5Gbit/s SDH, lOGbit/s SDH,40WDM2.5Gbit/s systems. On the other hand, the paper researched the correlative technology of the optical repeater station on transmission line tower from three angles including Influence factors of optical transmission, optical transmission technology and power technology. (2) Construction of the model of optical repeater station on tower is the core of the paper. The paper determined the index of the model, analyzed the basic framework of the model and the transmission performance of different rate signals, constructed the model in the end.(3) The design of optical repeater station on transmission line tower is the focus of this paper. The paper analyzed the hardware design of the model of system modules, designed four sections of hardware including optical repeater module, optical repeater monitor module, power module, and cabinet environment module, analyzed the function of the sample on the design.(4) The paper introduced the experiment system of optical repeater station on transmission line tower constructed on the design, tested the board hardware and the overall performance of the device from two aspects, including optical repeater transfer and the power, finally the result of the test was analyzed.
