Study Of Li Zhengfen’s Bibliography In Historical Records

Li Zhengfen made a good contribution in the field of bibliography in historical records. His three catalog works of Bu HouWeiShu Yi Wen Zhi,SuiDai Yi Wen Zhi Ji Zheng and SuiDai Yi Wen Zhi have great meaning in the research on the thriving writing and the development of academic culture in the period of HouWei and Sui Dynasties. The main object of study of this thesis is Li’s three bibliography in historical records, and the thesis can be divided into five chapters:First, study of the life and writings of Li Zhengfen. First of all, there are many descriptions of Li Zhengfen’s life, between which lots of differences exit. In the thesis a comparison between those descriptions is made to study Li Zhengfen’s life, and the exiting differences are recorded followed. The next, the known works of Li Zhengfen are approximately20kinds, which a introduction about their edition, main contents, effects and significance, and collections are given in the thesis.Second, study of Li Zhengfen compiling bibliography in historical records. First, to analysis how Li Zhengfen’s bibliography were accomplished in the background of prevalent replenishing chronicles in Qing Dynasty and Republic of China. The next, to study how the scripts of the bibliography in historical records were accomplished from the range of quoting materials, the principle of organizing and applying materials, and the character of the scripts. Again, to study how the two handwritten copies were accomplished, and to analysis the evolution of Li Zhengfen’s thoughts through the change from scripts to handwritten copies.Third, study of style of Li Zhengfen’s bibliography in historical records. First, to discourse the style of the bibliography in historical records from the study of book names, the sections and chapters, the authors, the accomplishment of the books, the main contents, the review, the reversed and the lost, the authenticity and the imitation, the classification, the correction to the errors, the doubts, and the category summary. Followed, to discourse the gains and the losses of its system from the category settings of Li Zhengfen’s bibliography in historical records.Fourth, study of replenishment and omissions. To study the omissions of Li Zhengfen’s bibliography in historical records, and to replenish the omissions, and to correct the errors with related literature and the present academic achievements.Fifth, to summarize Li Zhengfen’s achievements and contributions from bibliography history, academic history and classical literature.
