Abstract/Summary:
With the advances in network technology and wireless communication technology,wireless networks has been developed rapidly, which triggered a hot key technology ofMobile IPv6handover. The speed of Mobile IP handover directly affects the smooth transitionfrom one subnet to another. In order to efficiently handle real-time requirements for highvoice and video services, to achieve seamlessly handover to a mobile device is particularlyimportant.The performance of standard Mobile IPv6handover can’t meet the high real-timerequirements of multimedia data services. Thus, scholars have proposed some improvementschemas. This article introduces and analyzes today’s mainstream handover scheme, andfinally chooses the fast handover prototype. Based on the special motion pattern of mobilenode(MN) moving back and forth between two subnets, this paper proposes a method byadding buffer table of MN information on both regional MAP and access router, which caneffectively improve the utilization of address and avoid frequent coa(care-of address)configuration and detection, greately improve the handover efficiency of MN in sepecialmotion pattern. On the basis of buffer table, adding a backup table could save a group ofunassigned coa, thus directly fetch and distribute when receiving coa request from new MN.Automatic address configuration happends only when backup table is empty to generate anew group of coa. Using backup table, regardless of the motion pattern, MN can quickly get auseful coa, greatly reducing the time of mobile IPv6handover.Further, this paper also applys the improment method to HMIPv6and FHMIPv6.Ultimately it choose FHMIPv6as the experiment subject, extends the function of intra-MAPhandover and add the function of inter-MAP handover in the program module of NS-2’FHMIPv6. Finally, did the experimental simulation in NS-2to verify the effectiveness of themodified program by analyzing experimental results. Experiments show that the improvementprogram has a greater improvement in reducing the communication interrupt latency andpacket loss.
