Research Of Handover Technology Based On Mobile WiMAX

Mobile IPv6 can integrate different wireless technologies at the IP Layer into Heterogeneous Wireless Networks to provide users with ubiquitous communications service. Based on the analysis of IEEE802.16 standard and WiMAX network architecture, the vertical handover mechanism for broadband wireless network based on WiMAX technology is studied in this thesis. A FHMIPv6 handover scheme for mobile WiMAX is carried out by using the existing control messages defined in IEEE802.16e-2005 standard and FHMIPv6 protocol which incorporates a set of useful messages among primitives proposed by IEEE 802.21, and the handover procedure is elaborated in detail. The simulation of FMIPv6 protocol and FHMIPv6 protocol using NS2 are done, based on the simulation, the performance of the two kinds of protocols are compared and analyzed.The way to handover in WiMAX and TD-SCDMA network is studied in this thesis,a MIH based handover scheme is proposed and the handover procedure is described in detail.
