With the information technology extending in all walks of life, mining enterprise’s informatization also becomes a general trend. The traditional two-dimensional management mode of mining enterprise and relevant information can’t meet the needs of development. As an effective mode of management, the construction of digital mine will help mining enterprises to achieve high production, high efficiency and safe mining. Digital mine is the application of virtual reality,GIS and3D visualization in the field of mine. By using efficient spatial database engine and advanced three-dimensional modeling technology, the3D expression and reproduction of the mine geological bodies and other objects in the geological environment can be realized. Based on the3D geosciences data and geosciences model, not only computer-aided mapping and computer-aided design, but also the3D production management and decision analysis can be realized efficiently. With the main aim of3D visualization used in digital mine,3D modeling method of buildings in the industrial square is researched and discussed. The research status of three-dimensional modeling at digital mine is discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of the current topology generation algorithm are analyzed. An improved method is put forward, which construct topological structure of the feature point set based on classification, and integrate the advantages of right-turn algorithm and orthogonal polygons dichotomy structure algorithm. The modeling method of complex buildings with set operation and its difficulties are discussed, and the method suitable for this paper is presented.Finally, based on OpenGL technology and the three-dimensional visualization platform developed by Xi’an JiLing Information Technology Co. LTD, a prototype system of three-dimensional modeling for industrial square is implemented with C++.This system can automatically generated the topology of buildings vertex data, data saving and draw thumbnail of simple topology sequence. Building three-dimensional description of the housing, three-dimensional entities set operations and other functions. Reasonableness and feasibility of the modeling method presented here is verified by the result of the system.The research was funded by the project of "Coal Space Information Systems-3DGIS ", which is the innovation fund faced small and medium-sized enterprise of science and technology.
