The traditional sensor used by most cable form, such arrangement of the sensor when in installation. There are a lot of connections, not only to consider the cost of wiring, but also consider the interference between their signals. Traditional sensors networks will result in high economic costs, signal instability are many difficulties. With the development of computer technology, sensor technology, communication technology and industrial control technology, wireless sensor networks have come into being. Wireless sensor networks not only greatly reduce the lines, signal stability, easy installation. Easy to maintain, the economic cost is relatively low, and can be installed on the occasion of a harsh environment. Wireless sensor networks to be more widely used in life, like in the military field, medical field, the field of environment and other departments have some physical quantities of the wireless sensor network monitoring. The subject of design applied to large oil tankers, a temperature monitoring system based on wireless sensor networks. The entire monitoring system consists of four parts:the sensor node, sink node, server and client, they together constitute the four-story structure. The system will be deployed sensor nodes in any tanker, by MANET way constitute a sensor network. Each node data was collected by multi-hop way route to the sink node. Node cluster data after the initial treatment is stored at the data center; remote users can access through Internet data center, and a remote task control. This approach greatly reduces the large oil temperature sensor wiring and the development cost and the maintenance cost. It reduces the weight of a tanker, improves the speed of the ship’s navigation, and by means of wireless communication data acquisition and remote control, greatly improves the safety coefficient of oil tanker. In this thesis a comprehensive analysis of large oil tankers on the specific requirements of the temperature detection system, it combined with the characteristics of the temperature detection system on the market todayand the special environment of the large oil tankers. Temperature use wireless sensor network to detect large oil tankers. It analysis of the status and importance of the sink node in wireless sensor networks. They know that the sink node in wireless sensor networks play a connecting role. It designed to bring together the node hardware and software platforms.it use the LPC2214as the aggregation node processor, the CC2530as awireless communication unit. The Zigbee as wireless communication protocol, the sensor node network has brought a great deal of flexibility. It transplantation powerful μ/OS-II operating system, it provides a good platform for the preparation of the application. The design of Ethernet communication unit, it transplant the LWIP protocol stack, the wireless network and Ethernet communication conversion. Test of the sink node of the hardware environment, and software debugging.
