At present, the radio and television industry has entered an era of great development and great change. With the rapid development of communication technology, signals of digital television, HDTV and3D television have been sent to thousands of households. Single frequency network (SFN), as a transmission carrier for the digital signals of wireless radio and television, can greatly improve the spectrum utilization ratio under the environment where the frequency resources are scarce. With a wide coverage, single frequency network covering can effectively solve the problem of radio and television’s full coverage in big cities.Single frequency network applies the multiple emission technology, so the synchronization is very important. Single frequency network adapter is the core instrument in soloving the network synchronization problem of single frequency network. This paper introduces the design of the single frequency network adapter’s network management software, explores several effective methods of the chip multithreading mechanism and network communication. The single frequency network of terrestrial digital television in Beijing has a total of four launch sites. In each unmanned launch site, the remote monitoring system of the single frequency network can monitor each site’s environment, temperature, status of the digital transmitter and the operation of the single frequency network, and the system can conduct real-time, accurate, continuous on-line monitoring, fault warning and precise positioning. This paper introduces each part of the system and investigates the monitoring signal transmission scheme with SDH optical transmission network as the carrier. Some key technologies regarding the system’s hardware and software design are also discussed here.
