Through introduction and description of new generation weather radar and by combining the actual situation of China’s new generation weather radar data application and using technologies such as:data compression, data transmission, data storage and network flow monitoring, etc., this thesis studies the method to rationally utilize new generation weather radar data with high efficiency and designs the storage system for new generation weather radar. The thesis, firstly, combining the local practical working demands, proposes a feasible scheme for new generation radar data storage, based on integration of the local actual work monitoring and analysis applying various network monitoring procedures and network analysis technology, trying to research the current mainstream technologies in lossless data compression, including Huffman coding, run length coding, arithmetic coding and dictionary coding etc. Secondly, the data that requires remote transmission are tested by using the method of lossless data compression method; the data storage technology and database structure with focus on the demand conditions of radar data are studied and designed. Finally, NET-based comprehensive data disposal procedures are developed to build a new generation weather radar database, which satisfies the relevant the requirements for the long-term archiving and storage of radar data in the actual work, so as to provide a foundation for further carrying out of the research on the climatic and meteorological information sharing. Meanwhile, it also expands the service scope and service serving-group of radar data and other meteorological data to realize the goal of better serving the public.
