Optical fiber fusion splicer is a combination of optical, electronic technology and precision equipment. At present, most of Optical fiber fusion splicer working principle is first to align the two optical fiber by the optical fiber alignment system, then splice two segments of the fiber by a high electrode arc pressure. Optical fiber fusion splicer can get low loss, low reflection, high mechanical strength and long-term stable and reliable fiber splicing connector, so are widely used in communication engineering. There are many evaluation of the parameters of Optical Fiber Fusion Splicer, generally we determine the optical fiber fusion quality through the splicing loss and Fusion point strength, and the core of the evaluation index is optical fiber splice loss. At present, the multimode optical fiber splice loss can be controlled within0.1dB, and single mode fiber fusion loss can be reached0.2db. This papers to the single-mode optical fiber as the research object, by reducing fiber splicing loss as a starting point, complete the following several aspects:(1) Processed the image extracted from the optical fiber fusion by the use of MATLAB software of image processing functions, and analyzed the data and conclusions.(2) In order to improve the image clarity of the original lens of the microscope, I did the follow task:redefine the optical system evaluation, use zemax software to optimize the optical system design, design a zoom lens of the microscope magnification of6.7times.(3)Designed and set up the experimental platform of the optical power detection method, experimented and record experimental data, then analyzeded experimental results and suggestted improvements envisaged...
