Wireless Data Link Protocol Stack Software Design And Implementation

Wireless data link is a tactical communications system that dispatch fixed formatmessages in real-time and have complete communication protocols.It’s in1950s that theU.S. military first started research on tactical data link technology. Nowadays tacticaldata link has already been equipped in American Army, Navy and Air Force. In recentlocal wars, especially the war in Iraq, tactical data link system of the U.S. military inwartime communications provide real-time or near real-time data transmission, messageencryption, stealth and anti-jamming techniques.Tactical data link system has becomethe primary part of command control communication computer intelligence surveillanceand reconnaissance system. The US-led NATO members, Russia, Israel and othercountries have also developed their own data link system.Tactical data link whichapplications to improve the interactive capabilities of the wartime command system’sflexibility and information sharing, is an integral part of advanced modern wartimecommunication system.The research on data link in our country started later than other developedcountries. As more as weapon equipment and operation platforms being used, ourexisting tactical communication systems can’t provide multi-platform informationsharing and interaction any more.Also we have to improve technology of anti-jammingcapability and data confidentiality. Nowadays most of domestic research on data linkfocus on simulation of foreign data link performance and theoretical analysis of protocolstack of advanced data link.The research of this paper fouces on the state of technology of the advanced datalink and design principles of protocol stack.This paper describes in detail about thesoftware implementation of advanced data link protocol stack, which is based onPowerPC and DSP hardware platform.Also the media access control and sessionestablishment process are refined.At the end of the article, we verify the functionality ofthe protocol stack software. By the test results and data analysis, the software is provedto be useful.The research on protocol stack of tactical data link in this paper gives out asoftware implementation based on PowerPC and DSP hardware platform. The researchresults of this paper can be applied to the design and software implementation ofadvanced data link protocol stack, which has important theoretical significance andeconomic value.
