This paper presents the study on a helix TWT which has high average power. Inactual design, improve the average power of TWT is mainly restricted by the heatdissipation of its slow-wave structure. Therefore, the thermal design of helix slow-wavestructure becomes more and more important.Through the study of heat transfer theory, this paper analyzes the heat source andheat dissipation of helix slow-wave system by using computer simulation, and propose aoptimization scheme on the basis of a400W-average-power helix TWT. Meanwhile,use a lot of simulation and contrast, text and verify the correctness of design direction.Finally, this scheme is applied in to a practical TWT, along with experiment and text toprove it works. |
