Conveying system of cigarette cartons plays an important transitional role between packaging unit and sealing unit in packaging workshop, and is an important component of the cigarette industry logistics automation. The frequency of failure, emergency handling capacity and smoothness of conveying lines of cigarette cartons, will directly affect tobacco production cycle, quality, pure profits and economic efficiency in the packaging workshop. This paper studied the failure and causes of failure of sealing machine in packaging workshop processes and conveying process of cigarette cartons, and designed a conveying system of cigarette cartons which can be automatic controlled and optimizes the existing logistics.It is concluded that overall flow rate of the conveying system of cigarette cartons is6.2boxes/min, after studying the equipment layout and production, processes of packaging workshop and calculating capacity of tobacco production, capacity of a single sealing unit and tobacco product storage capacity according to the related data.An automated emergency conveying system of cigarette cartons is designed, optimizing existing logistics system, after studying the existing conveying system in packaging workshop based on analysis of cigarette conveying path, cigarette flowing conversion and conversion sensitivity. Based on SIEMENS PLC S7-300, the mechanical and electrical system of the system is designed. And photoelectric sensors, proximity switches, cylinders and motor are also selected.The emergency conveying system of cigarette cartons and the existing sealing system are automatic controlled in view of logistics optimization. Using the STEP7software, lifting cylinder of the channel, pushing cylinder part and the buzzer alarm are programmed. This paper studied electrical controlling principle, analyzed the logic control and established mathematical models of conversion device from elevated conveyor to the emergency exit and the roller conveyor. Sensors" location and delay time of cylinder action of roller conveyor are optimized to determine the overall and detailed logic control program. It is concluded that the sensor should be installed in the area near the board and the cylinder action delay time is210ms.
