The Upgrade And Optimization Of Nonlinear Editing Network In TV Station

With the development of video technology and computer network technology, the nonlinear editing network has been widely used in all TV stations since1990s. The current nonlinear editing network can’t meet the needs of many TV stations gradually due to the expansion of business requirement. Many TV stations choose to create a new nonlinear editing network to solve the problem, which cause operational costs increase and resources waste. This thesis analyzes problems and bottlenecks in current nonlinear editing networks, and proposes a method with upgrades and optimization of current nonlinear editing networks base on the example of Weifang TV.The first part of this thesis discusses the shortcomings and bottlenecks of the original nonlinear editing networks and distinguishes the priority for upgrade and optimization. The second part introduces the detail implementation of upgrade and optimization, including adding new servers, central storage and switches according to the actual situation, updating original server operating system and database in the architecture of FC-Ethernet and NAS, enhancing the configuration of the optical and ethernet switches to meet the requirements of practical applications in Weifang TV Station. In the last part, the results of bandwidth performance test and security test for the upgraded system are given, together with the analysis of problems encountered during implementation.The upgraded nonlinear editing network based on the method discussed in this thesis runs smoothly in normal use and, thus, the upgrade and optimization design proposed in this thesis is effective.
