Four lakes region is located in backland of Jianghan Plain, the region area of11547square kilometers, water resource is very rich, it is an important agricultural production base in Hubei Province. However, as a result of flood disasters and water pollution and other reasons, resulting in four lake watershed ecological environment worsens day by day, and what is more, four lake basin natural water area is decreasing, the ecological function degradation, natural lake wetland shrinking functions, basin on pollutant purification ability and payment ability of flood is waning. These problems have affected the agricultural production of Hubei Province, a threat to agricultural safety. In order to better protect and develop the four lake watershed, the need for four lake watershed land use for more in-depth research, and on this basis to establish the four lake watershed land use database system, convenient for government departments and researchers to quickly get the amount of land, land quality, land dynamic change, land use status and other information, each research on four lake watershed land use information access and sharing will be more convenient. More importantly, four lake watershed land use database system can be completed on the four lake watershed land resources in the presence of the massive land use data efficiently management, realization of four lake watershed land use resources to provide informative and scientific data for land use, research, and to provide a scientific basis for the protection of waters. At present, research institutions and researchers have a lot of different historical periods and the different topics of the four lake watershed map, in the absence of a communication platform, so these valuable information has not been effectively utilized. This system through the use of database and WebGIS two technology, four lake watershed research provides an open platform for the exchange of. The database system of this system is to take the open source MySQL database system as the platform, it can manage a variety of four lake watershed map. Because the MySQL database support spatial data, the collected map can be stored in the MySQL database after a small amount of conversion. With MySQL database support, four lake watershed land use database platform can easily manage all kinds of different historical periods and the different topics of the four lake watershed map, massive map data can easily import, deletion and query. This system uses the MySQL database for map information management, uses the open source GeoServer and OpenLayer development technology for WebGIS platform, those technology can be available on the Internet on four lake watershed map browse and query service. All users of the system can study four lake watershed map by a common browser, without the need to rely on the professional GIS software to map browse and query. All users of this system may use of desktop computer enters this system, can also enters the system by a variety of mobile devices that can access Internet, so that it can be convenient and the application range of the system. This paper aims to solve the problem of storing large amount data in county land use database, based on theory research and Practiee. It established a rural land use status database finally, during which GeoServer are selected as Platform and MySQL Server is used as tool for managing spatial database.the data of rural land survey was classified and organized, the logical model and relationship was established, the data of land survey was deseripted by Geographical data struetures and the Geodatabase data was stored in the feature class of the database. At the sametime the key issues of the database was diseussed. Finally, the database was established.
