As the Apple iPad tablet is released in2010, a burst of powerful cyclone blowing in theIT industry. The number of iPad applications has already reached450,000,. The applicationsfor mobile learning are very outstanding from many other applications, while there are fewresearchs in this field at present. Mobile learning application which is made up of computertechnology, communication technology, multimedia technology and educational technologyis put into the high performance, small size, portable and environmentally friendly iPadterminal. Mobile learning applications are widely used in online learning system as thesupplement. These applications serve for the majority of educators and learners so that theycan mobile learning no matter when and where they are.The article bases on the characteristics of the new period of mobile learning. Accordingto Pan theoretical guidance in analyzing the use’s needs, and the characteristics of teachingand learning aspects of the mobile learning process, I start to develop a feasibility report.Finally, by researching and developing the mobil learning system, I successfully designed themobile learning courses, courses transcription, video clips, courseware production anddistribution, the remote server and the iPad client development which are all suitable formobil learning. Furthermore I did functional testing of mobile learning applications. Systemfunctions include the course overview, on-demand courseware, curriculum discussion,communication, resource downloading and note taking. Theoretical knowledge and relatedtechnologies used in the system are discussed in detail. In China mainland, mobile learningapplications are focus on management, teaching, and process control. However, this article isbase on needs of mobile learning and focus on main teaching links. I improved the fluent andmaneuverable operation interface, online streaming media video playing and downloading,and the clients programming technology which. Moreover, we achieve a simple and intuitive,interactive, high availability mobile learning functional requirements.Meanwhile, because of the high price of the iPad and the lack of domestic networkenvironment, next step for this subject is to explore and study, and is the developmentdirection of mobile learning application.
