Research And Implement Of Cross-layer Rouitng Protocols For Wireless Mobile MESH Network

In recent years, wireless network access business is developing rapidly. As a newnetwork structure, Wireless Mobile Mesh Network (WMMN) works in a complex workingenvironment, and wireless coverage can be achieved, so it is widely concerned. There are stillmany topics to be studied on WMMN, routing protocol is one of the most concerned.The paper elaborates on routing protocol study, development and implement on thebackground of the Research and Implement of Cross-layer Routing Protocols for WirelessMESH Network Project. After the research on main routing algorithms in WMMN network,OLSR protocol is chosen to be studied as it best matches the application background. In thispaper, a new routing protocol called CLOLSR（Cross Layer Optimized Link State Routing）is put forward, which is proposed by the combination of cross-layer design and OLSR. It canget information from MAC layer and PHY layer.This paper focus on how to implement CLOLSR on Linux operating system based on802.11b wireless network card. Discuss all the details of the whole implementation process.CLOLSR is divided into several functional modules which are bottom routing module andupper routing module. Software flow charts for all of these functional modules are given.Run the implemented CLOLSR on three nodes to verify routing protocol, the CLOLSRrouting protocol is also simulated in the Network Simulator Version2and the result showsthat it has a better network performance.
