The Design Of IMS Multimedia Terminal Based On SIP Protocol

At present by the IMS as the core of the next generation network research has become thefocus of the communication industry, the development of the next generation network ofsustainable development to support the becoming increasingly important data and multimediaservices has become the strategic goal of many communication operators. IMS uses SIPprotocol to complete the control and management of multimedia conference, through the SIPprotocol, IMS can provide all kinds of multimedia terminal with rich multimedia services,such as basic voice, peer-to-peer video, point to multipoint video, meeting service, presentservice, Poc service and instant messages.The development of IMS network conforms to the trend of the development of thecommunication network, and all of the telecommunication operators are stepping upconstruction of IMS network, the communications equipment manufacturers are alsodeveloping IMS-based network equipment. In this case, we can see that the IMS multimediaterminal project conforms to the IMS network development trend.IMS multimedia terminal is actually a kind of audio and video telephony terminal basedon the IMS network. Only IMS multimedia terminal is different from traditional telephoneterminal, IMS multimedia terminal can play not only traditional telephone, but also can playIP telephone, at the same time, the terminal provide more multimedia services as well as newservice and terminal management model. The terminal provide not only basic voicecommunication, video communication, address book, call history, call portal features, but alsoprovide information browsing, advertisement pushing, information customization features.IMS multimedia terminal is part of the whole architecture of the entire IMS network systemwhich is used for service presents, and the service pushing rely on SIP PUSH engine, loginand upgrade management depend on the terminal management and service distributionplatform.This paper bases on the IMS multimedia terminal project, and introduces the involvedknowledge such as IMS network and SIP protocol, SDP protocol and TR069protocol, etc.This paper has a more detailed description of several important parts of the whole system architecture, IMS multimedia terminal system functional structure and the process design ofeach module. And it especially focuses on the SIP protocol management module in the systemfunctional modules. Finally this paper presents and analyses the IMS multimedia terminalservice system, and the pace of the work on the project is discussed.
