In recent years, with the sharp increasing in our population and the relativelyscarce in medical resources, the medical burden of the society has significantlyincreased. More than95%of the hospitalized patients will adopt the way of theinfusion treatment. However, there are many defects in the traditional way of infusion:such as the infusion rate is not enough accurate, and the abnormal situation is difficultto timely deal with.According to actual demands, a transfusion monitoring system is designed basedon the wireless sensor networks. The system is a distributed system, which isconsisting of PC and the nodes of a number of different functions. Each node transmitsthe data by the wireless sensor networks, which is built on the ZigBee technology. Andthe coordinate node transmits the data to PC by Internet. The system uses themeasurement of infrared optoelectronic technology to measure the speed of infusion, transmits the transfusion information of each monitoring terminal node to the PC, andmonitors each terminal node on real-time. When abnormal accidents happen, PC willnotice the health care workers to timely deal with through the alarm and send abnormalinformation to the terminal node of nurses. Finally, the hardware and software of the system are tested. The experimentsshow that the system can improve staff productivity, reduce labor intensity of healthcare workers, and reduce the working pressure of the health care workers. Besides, thesystem has a simple structure, low power consumption and low cost, stableperformance, easy to expand, and some practical value.
