With the rapid development of science and technology and the advancement of living standard, more and more people will have cars, which can have a great influence on the future of transportation. Problems like traffic jam, accident liability and vehicles security occur always. So this paper focuses on the design of intelligent urban traffic control system based on the internet of things, aiming at introducing the internet of things into road vehicles monitoring management and realizing the effective supervision and control of the vehicles.The main researches in this paper are as follows.In view of the present city traffic problem, analysis the vehicle monitoring system requirements and the design of target analysis, introduced a few basic business process of the system, put forward the overall design scheme of the vehicle monitoring system.For meeting the system communication and real-time positioning function requirements, select the appropriate vehicle terminal, and introduction the hardware related of the terminal, introduces components of the system, including the RF system, monitoring system and database system, select the communication protocol of the terminal, ascertain Mircrosoft Visual Studio2008as development platform of a monitoring system software, according to security and stability requirements of the database system, using SQL Server2005database design the system.In this research, the key stone lies in the design and realization of the two major subsystems:communication subsystem and monitoring subsystem, because data transmission of the vehicle monitoring system request high real-time performance, long transmission distance, wide coverage, high stability. Analyses the process about the processing and storge of the data of the communication subsystem.In monitoring subsystem, to monitor easy operation for the personnel and convenience in the development, the system’s GIS platform is MapX, components GIS are used for secondary development to organize.Design of the electronic map management, vehicle monitoring, historical path query and alarm functions, Finally, it puts forward the implementation methods of vehicles dynamic track display technology.The vehicle monitoring system in this paper can monitor the vehicles availably and instantaneously, solve the congestion situation about the city and provide the necessary services to the vehicles, give many helps in the analysis of traffic accidents and mastery for conditions about road traffic.
