Nowdays, with embedded system and communication technology developing, as well as the popularity of mobile communications equipment, home appliances remote control already gradually into people’s lives. Achieve over any period of electric remote intelligent automatic control, bring to people’s lives easier, it is worth considering in the future issues of the day. On the basic of discusses the present situation and development trend of smart home, this thesis put forward the total design project of the home appliances remote controlling system.We successfully developed the embedded home gateway, based ARM9processor, and the use of mobile phones of short news function and ZigBee wireless communication technology to achieve the home appliances remote control.In hardware design, it decided to adopt Samsung S3C2440A processor as the the central processing unit of home gateway, which expansion of memory (SDRAM/Flash) and touch screen. The three serial ports of S3C2440, used for debugging, connect the SMS receiver circuit and ZigBee circuit. On S3C2440I/O port GPF2is used to connect the remote control self-learning circuit. In the SMS receiver circuit, controller of home appliance is connected into the mobile communication network through GR64module and SIM card, to set the SMS, control different home appliances running state; Remote control self-learning circuit uses infrared head for integration TL538,and the function is to receive and storage of infrared remote control instructions; ZigBee circuit are composed of ZigBee module by a wireless SoC chip CC2430and Infrared emission module,which achieve the transmission and send of the infrared remote control instructions.In software design, using embedded Linux operating system, the Linux kernel tailoring and transplantation were completed; The infrared remote control instructions can be storaged by inputing parameters,on human-computer interface, which programmed through QT4programming language and combined with SQLite3technology. In this thesis, the related AT command were adopted, in order to achieve short massage receiver. Finally using ZigBee protocol stack realized the family internal network.The whole system realize the remote control home appliances by mobile phone short message, and this system with low cost, and the control methods are relatively simple, and easy to upgrade.So the applied foreground is better.
