Wireless sensor network WSN is a research focus in the field of embedded system andInternet of Things currently. Application development of WSN involves comprehensivetechnologies including sensor technology, wireless communication and networking,embedded software and hardware design and application fields technology. Applicationresearch and product development of WSN is more difficult, and has more technicalaspects, higher complexity and other characteristics, and becomes bottleneck of WSNapplication development.This paper develops wireless sensor network programmable control moduleWSN-PCM with scalable hardware and configurable software based on generality andconfigurability design ideas of programmable logic controller PLC and configurationsoftware. Common technicists can achieve their aims of data collection, feedback controland concise networking through hardware combination, parameters configuration andquadratic programming.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Propose design ideas, design principles and design frameworks of WSN-PCMthrough analyzing the technical route of PLC and configuration software and aiming at thedemand characteristics of WSN.(2) On this basis, Freescale dedicated microcontroller unitchip MC13213is chosen to design WSN-PCM hardware entity in accordance with the ideaof embedded component development and requirements of hardware redefined.(3)WSN-PCM software is divided into three layers: embedded software component layer,wireless routing protocol layer and application profile layer. The hierarchy distinction andfunction of each layer are explicit. The WSN-SDNET proposed is a brief networkingrouting protocol of WSN-PCM. Users only need to configure interfaces that are supplied orreprogramme, and can achieve the goal of transparent transmission of wireless data.(4)Configuration and test software in PC is divided into three parts: communication unit,database unit and graphically displaying unit on the basis of communication mode, data storage and page function, and provides a simple and intuitive way for users to configureWSN-PCM, and shows parameters and work status of WSN-PCM through serialcommunication interface.(5) Illustrate the method of customizing WSN-PCM throughwireless lighting brilliance modulation system PC-WSN. The test and tracking of run stateof project PC-WSN shows that WSN-PCM has comprehensive functions and stableperformance, lowers the threshold of WSN application development and improves theefficiency of WSN product development.
