We could easily catch the excellent achievement of the shu-yi from the current research situation. They clarified the origin of the Shu-yi, made deep research into the sociological history, custom history, and linguistic field, unfold the rich cultural meaning of the Shu-yi instrument of Dunhuang before the public, they also proclaimed the value of the Shu-yi instrument of Dunhuang from the angle of philology and stylistics. But all those research still in the lack of a systematic annotation.In order to make a better annotation, several tips needed to take into consideration: specific cultural background and exotic style; language features and formation, their connection and difference; connected to different kinds of social facts, taking specific notes on specific contents. This paper aims at the study of annotation research on the Mirror of the Shu-yi, get most out of the writer’s origin meaning, recover most out of the book’s origin contents, in avoid of hasty conclusion and misrepresent.
