Low Power Line Carrier Communication, due to the world’s most widely distributed medium, has been concerned by academia and industry extensively. However, the power line was originally designed for the transmission of electrical energy, when used for data communication, the Low-voltage power line channel represents high attenuation, high noise and time-varying characteristic, resulting in data communication distance is limited, the reliability is not high. For this issue, while taking into account the future low-voltage power line network should be able to seamless connectivity with the remote network proposed, this paper conducts a research on communication protocol and routing algorithm for low voltage power line network.. The main works of this paper carried out include:Firstly, build a model for PLC based on TCP/IP protocol. Popular PLC protocols are generally foreign standards, which has complex communication protocols, and requires expensive cost and higher hardware. So to build an open, common communication protocol model has potential applications. Consider will achieve a seamless connection of the power line network and the remote network in future, this paper introduces the TCP/IP protocol to build a PLC model based on the TCP/IP protocol. Based on the characteristics of the low-voltage power line channel, in order to improve the transmission efficiency, a TCP/IP protocol replacement algorithm to compress TCP/IP protocol headers is presented in this paper; at the same time, the intermediate node caching mechanism to reduce the number of end-to-end retransmission, improve network throughput.Secondly, presentation of the MAC Protocol suitable for PLC Network. According to the broadcast type Characteristic of PLC channel, this paper draws and improved CSMA/CA channel access method of wireless network, the complex RTS-CTS mechanism, instead of simple ACK validation mechanism, thereby reduces the communication burden, while ensuring the reliability of data transmission.Thirdly, presenting a Multi-path dynamic routing algorithm based on the neighbor table. The existing PLC routing algorithms are mainly the ant colony algorithm and clustering algorithm. Because of Implementation of complex and high requirements for hardware, the ant colony algorithm is used rarely in the PLC. Clustering routing is divided into Overlapping and non-overlap of the two algorithms, which is faster than the ant colony algorithm, is simple, but there are disadvantages too. This paper mainly with overlapping and non-overlapping two algorithms proposed based on the neighbor table dynamic routing algorithm, which is simpler and need lower storage..The result of the simulation proves that the routing algorithm can keep the network connectivity, and has the ability to optimize the network.
