With the mobile phone enters into the lives of ordinary people step by step, it will becomethe main device to obtain information. Therefore, the application services of mobile phone willhave great development space, map service is one of them. The development of mobile maps tomeet the demand for geographic information on the phone, its biggest advantage is theportability and data real-time. The mobile map services can accurately display the location andpublic transport, banks, hospitals and other life, so that you are also well aware of thesurroundings in a strange city.The Android platform can provide to the average developer whois very flexible map display and control functions, which will enable the design of the mapservice, and to achieve a better platform.Android platform can provide to the programmers avery flexible function of display and control of the map, which will make the design andimplementation of map service have a better platform.On the basis of the description of domestic and international situation and key technologiesabout mobile map development based on the Android platform.This paper has a systematicanalysis of the two modules, POI search and route search on the mobile map of the Androidplatform. Related technologies about mobile map, such as mobile map architecture, mobile mapmodule technology and cross-platform basic technology, were applied. Based on the Androidprogramming, two functional modules, were designed and implemented, including points ofinterest search, the results of points of interest, the information of points of interest, find pointsof interest nearby, share points of interest, collect points of interest, route search, the results ofroute, share route and collect route.This system is user-friendly and easy to operate. Besides, it has good extendibility andmaintainability. Finally, after the system was tested, the results show that the design is correctand the operation is stable, it can meet the mobile phone users’ basic needs of map service.However, poor performance under adverse network issues still need further study. With theimprovement of the Android system, the new updated version of the Android platformfunctionality is bound to be more powerful. Our next main task is to expand the limitations ofthe use of mobile maps, add new data source access interface, interface, and further optimize the performance of mobile maps, to improve the user location update data in order to improvethe Android phone map features,updates and POI data processing, and improve mobile map addvideo call feature, which greatly facilitates the use of the user, to increase the availability of thesystem. Along with the Android development progress, constantly updated version, to betterserve the community.
