The oilfield engineering accident management system plays an importantrole in reducing the number of down hole operation accidents which have causedlosses to the enterprises and society, and it also makes the management of downhole operation accidents easier;for the down hole operations are conductedunderground, which cannot be seen with our naked eyes,and so it is difficultto control accidents.This paper presents an oilfield engineering accident management systemwhich users can inquire the information of the past accidents and input theinformation and demonstrate the whole process of typical accidents in the formof three-dimensional animation. So In addition to conventional managementsystem functions, virtual reality technique is adopted in the system todemonstrate the process of the accidents in the form of three-dimensionalanimation.This paper mainly describes the whole development process of theoilfield engineering accident management system based on Web3D technique.Based on Web3D technique, using3D Max software for modeling and WebMaxengine for Real-time Rendering,the oil producing test engineering accidentmanagement system imitates vividly the proceedings and the handlings of thedown hole engineering accidents, and it use Oracle9i to access the informationin the background.The system main functions includes the input, query, modification andupdate of the producing test accidents information and the user log managementand user information modification. The engineering accident query functionprovides relevant accident information in the past for users, who can drawuseful lesson from theaccidents to prevent operation errors and to cope with similar accidents effectively in the future.Using the input and modificationfunction, the users can easily enter the producing test accidents informationfor future reference. Furthermore, using3D animation technology, the systemcan demonstrate the process and the handling methods of the typical engineeringaccident and also the using of the equipments by giving the users vividanimation pictures,so the system can provide information and data for thefuture accident handling. Therefore, the system is of great importance in theengineering accident management and promoting engineering accident handlingefficiency.The techniques of ASP.NET and database especially Web3D technique are alsodiscussed in the paper,and the system is designed accordingly. The accidentmodel and the animation are produced by3DMAX and WebMax, and the program exceptthe animation are developed on Visual Studio2005platform using C#language.The application of Web3D technology in oil field engineering accidentmanagement is a new field for us to explore.Although Web3D technology is seldomused in oil field engineering accident management, but with the rapiddevelopment of computer network technology,more Web3D applications will beavailable and popular.
